Our Story
Arlo was climbing the walls before Aaron Feldman, Founder and CEO, put up the first shelf in 2016. Living in coyote country and feeling guilty about keeping his cats indoors, Aaron wanted to create an environment that could emulate hills and trees...landscapes for cats = catscapes!
Thirty-five shelves later, Aaron had created his first catscape using products that were on the market already. The cats loved it, but his home looked like a pirate ship in a zoo enclosure.

Aaron observed that the shelves the cats really enjoyed looked like cat furniture on the walls while the simpler and more attractive shelves were merely horizontal perches that failed to engage the cats' athletic potential. Many "cat shelves" seem to completely misunderstand how cats actually move...or would like to move.
Because every room is different, an elegant solution would have to be customizable, necessitating a bracketing system that would accommodate positioning multiple shelves of any length at any angle.
With the design and engineering genius of his childhood friend, Trevor Thorpe, they came up with unique and now patented hinge-brackets. The keys to kingdoms!
CATSCAPES HINGE-BRACKETS
The keys to kingdoms!

CatScapes hinge-brackets allow you to arrange shelves of any length at any angle, and to form intersections of two, three, and even four shelves!
In addition to emulating hills and trees that provide cats opportunities to use muscles which might otherwise atrophy indoors, the angles of the intersected shelves function as gigantic L-brackets, affording the given configuration extraordinary structural stability, even off-stud.
